HAHA! Well… the good news is that if you get even 1 of these things into your routine you will see noticable improvement over the course of time and it will lead to improvement in other areas. I think the biggest mistake any of us can make in this artform is to think that we can master it in a short period of time. The thing we need to find here is the ability to take one element and watch ourselves learn that one element and enjoy the process of improving upon that one thing. I only listed many approaches and give a variety of view points to give you options so that you can choose the one that is most enjoyable at any given point and focus on that specific one. Its not to overwhelm you with the idea that you have to learn all of them!
I would suggest having a white board and just writing down what you practice for the day on the board. Always ‘lead’ with the thing that is calling to you. You will make the most results this way. BEWARE of attention deficit disorder in your practice sessions. If you work on more than 3 things in an hour, you probably are not going to make significant progress in any one thing you work on.
Use this as a principle anchor moving forward and let me know how it goes. I believe in you and love your enthusiasm. While you may still be struggling with the feel of the enclosure (not an easy thing by any means!), think about where you were a couple weeks ago – you didn’t even know these things existed! I’d say that is some monumental progress if I’ve ever seen it 😎
